Policymaking for a more resilient world

Published on October 19th 2025

Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP) is leading a project to explore how insights from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk Poll can inform policymaking for a safer and more resilient Southeast Asia.

The initiative focuses on understanding and communicating public perceptions of risk to support evidence-based decisions in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital trade, industrial policy and workplace safety. As part of the project, four new policy briefs have been developed alongside infographics and explainer videos, offering practical recommendations for policymakers across the region.

Two regional workshops were held in July 2025 in Jakarta and Singapore, bringing together policymakers, researchers and industry representatives from across Southeast Asia. Discussions focused on how digital and industrial policies can foster innovation, safety and inclusion.

The project, in partnership with UNIDO and funded by Lloyd’s Register Foundation, runs from September 2024 to December 2025 under the World Risk Poll into Action programme.
