CIIP delivers bespoke training for delegation from the Government of Nigeria

Published on January 21st 2026

Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP) recently delivered a one-day bespoke training course for a delegation from the Committee on Industry of the House of Representatives and of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) from the Government of Nigeria. Hosted at the University of Cambridge, the programme focused on industrial innovation policy, with particular attention to the automotive sector and its role in economic transformation.

The course combined expert-led sessions, interactive discussion, and group exercises. Participants explored the global context for industrial innovation policy, key analytical frameworks, and international case studies, before applying these insights to map Nigeria’s innovation system and automotive ecosystem. The programme encouraged peer exchange and practical reflection on stakeholders, capabilities, and opportunities for value creation.

“Industrial innovation policy is always context-specific, but there is real value in learning from international experience. This course facilitated participants to explore how global lessons can inform specific policy challenges in Nigeria’s automotive and manufacturing sectors.” Dr Mateus Labrunie.

The training reflects CIIP’s distinctive approach to executive and policy education, combining cutting-edge research from the University of Cambridge with practical tools, international case studies, and real-world policy experience to support evidence-based decision-making and impactful investment in science, technology, and innovation.
