Plan Yucatán industrial policy presented in London
Published on August 27th 2026
Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy and the Government of Yucatán have presented Plan Yucatán: Industrial Policy of the State of Yucatán 2025–2050 at an international event in London.
Held at One Birdcage Walk on 25 August, the event marked an important milestone in the collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Labour of the State of Yucatán and Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP), with support from Open Society Foundations.
The new policy sets out a long-term roadmap for Yucatán’s industrial development, bringing together priorities around human talent, productive infrastructure, innovation and technology, regional supply chains, and investment attraction.
It has been developed through analysis and stakeholder engagement to help Yucatán capitalise on major developments including the expansion of the Port of Progreso, the Maya Train freight service and new industrial corridors, while supporting more competitive businesses, better-paid jobs and sustainable, inclusive growth.
The London event provided an opportunity to share Yucatán’s long-term industrial vision with an international audience and highlight the role of evidence, coordination and implementation in translating industrial policy into economic opportunities.
CIIP will continue to support the Government of Yucatán through capacity building, international benchmarking and the development of approaches to support implementation.
