A report for Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), on behalf of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)
The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) commissioned Policy Links to assess the implications for Oman from the impacts, opportunities and challenges arising from the digitalisation of the manufacturing sector. The study sought to go beyond considerations on R&D and knowledge generation around specific technologies, to cover issues relevant to the diffusion and deployment of those technologies in manufacturing sectors. In doing so, the study drew heavily from targeted consultations with industry, academic and public body stakeholders in Oman, while concepts and frameworks from the academic literature have helped inform the methodological approach.
