Introduction to manufacturing and industrial innovation – A two-day training programme for civil servants and policy officials (2020)

A training programme for the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)

This training programme was designed in collaboration with the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to provide bespoke capacity building to policy stakeholders with an interest in manufacturing and industrial innovation to share experiences and promote the use of common frameworks and language.

The aims of the training were to: Provide an introduction to key concepts, frameworks and ideas in the areas of manufacturing and industrial innovation; Facilitate a structured dialogue between BEIS and other stakeholders with responsibility for manufacturing and industrial innovation, including the Devolved administrations; Gain a better understanding of the manufacturing and industrial innovation landscape in the UK and contrast it with that of other countries; Discuss strategies being implemented by industry to exploit the opportunities driven by new manufacturing technologies, including digital manufacturing.
