Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP) collaborated with the Western Norway Research Institute and Norce to examine how working life is affected by the green and digital transitions, and how to enable sustainable, just, and inclusive transformations.
CIIP published the report Shaping inclusive digital and green transitions in working life. The study explores how digital and green transitions are transforming work, skills, and inclusion, and how policy can respond to ensure just and sustainable outcomes.
The analysis reviewed 107 policy documents from nine European and international organisations between 2014 and 2025, complemented by interviews and a policy webinar involving 38 experts.
Findings highlight how digital and green transitions are reshaping skills demand, workplace structures, and occupational safety, while creating new inclusion and exclusion dynamics.
The report identifies six opportunity areas for more inclusive policymaking, including addressing structural barriers, rethinking economic models, and fostering global solidarity. This project contributes to shaping policies that balance innovation, sustainability, and equity in the future of work.
