CIIP and Government of Yucatán collaborate on long-term industrial policy
Published on June 5th 2026
Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP) is collaborating with the Ministry of Economy and Labour of the State of Yucatán, Mexico (SETY) to support the development of the State’s Industrial Policy 2025–2050.
As part of the partnership, CIIP’s Dr Jennifer Castañeda-Navarrete recently visited Yucatán to meet with government counterparts, discuss the project approach and progress, and identify priorities for the next phase of work.
The Industrial Policy 2025–2050 is intended to provide a long-term strategic framework for public- and private-sector decision-making. It aims to strengthen the State’s competitiveness, attract investment and align infrastructure, innovation, and workforce development strategies to support sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Through funding from the Open Society Foundations, CIIP is providing independent, non-binding technical support to the process. This includes analytical insights, international benchmarking, capacity-building activities, and the sharing of international experience to inform policy design and implementation. SETY retains full responsibility for the content and decisions underpinning the policy.
The partnership reflects CIIP’s broader mission to support governments and institutions in designing evidence-based industrial innovation policies, drawing on its experience working with governments and international organisations worldwide.
