Developing domestic manufacturing for the solar energy sector in Oman: Opportunities and challenges (2018)

A report for Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), on behalf of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)

This study explored the opportunities and challenges for developing domestic manufacturing activities linked to the solar energy sector in Oman (including the manufacture of products and system components for solar power generation). Specifically, the study provided insights into thematic policy priorities to support the development of domestic manufacturing capabilities building on existing industrial and innovation assets.

The study drew from a range of sources of evidence including: statistical data, technology analyses, and international policy documents and strategies. In addition, targeted consultations were carried out in Oman with representatives from industry, academia and public authorities.
